These terms cover your use of this website. They are not the contract for making a film. That is a separate written agreement, and nothing on this page changes it.

Major Gift Films is a trading name of Communitas Creative, led by Matt Benn. You can reach us at hello@majorgiftfilms.com.
Using this site
You are welcome to read this site, quote from it with attribution, print it, and share it inside your organisation. A board pack print layout is built in, so printing the page gives you something you can circulate.
Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, extract its contents in bulk, or present its material as your own work.
The films and photographs
Every film and photograph on this site is our work or is used with permission, and it remains the property of its owner. The people who appear in these films took part in a charity's project, not in an advertisement for us, and they agreed to be filmed on that basis.
Please do not download, re-cut, re-upload or redistribute any of it without asking us first. If you want to show a film to your board or in a meeting, ask and we will almost always say yes.
The prices we publish
We publish our prices because you should be able to plan around them, and we would rather you knew before the first call. Two things are worth being clear about.
The published figures show the shape of the work and what it usually costs. They are not a binding quote. The price for your project is agreed in writing, in a treatment, before anything is signed. Once it is agreed it is fixed, and we do not revise it upward mid-project.
We may change our published prices for future work at any time. A price already agreed with you in writing is not affected.
The first-shoot guarantee
We advertise a money-back guarantee on the first shoot of a Residency. The terms of that guarantee are set out in the written agreement you sign before the shoot, and they are agreed with you before you commit to anything.
Sending an enquiry
Sending the form starts a conversation and creates no contract on either side. We are not obliged to take on the work and you are not obliged to proceed. We reply to genuine enquiries within one working day.
What happens to the details you send is set out in our privacy policy.
The research on this site
The giving figures on the front page come from published research, and each one is footnoted with its source so you can check it. We believe them to be accurate as at the date of publication. Sector research is revised over time, so please verify anything you intend to put in front of a board.
Nothing on this site is fundraising, legal, tax or financial advice, and no film can guarantee a gift.
Links to other sites
Where we link to another organisation, such as Vimeo or a research publisher, we have no control over what they do or what their pages contain.
Our responsibility to you
We take care to keep this site accurate and available, though we cannot promise it will always be free of errors or never go offline.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for business losses arising from your use of this website, such as lost profit, lost revenue or lost opportunity. Nothing here affects the terms of a signed contract between us, which govern the work itself.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page. The date at the top tells you when it last changed, and the version in force is the one published when you use the site.
